I'm 17. I go to school and that's my social life. At the weekends I might meet up with one friend at a time during the day and go into town or something, but that's it. My life is sad. Everyone else my age goes out Friday and Saturday nights with their friends, have house parties, go to clubs and discos and stuff, but I'm always stuck at home. It's not that I don't have friends, I have several good friends but I know them each separately, not as a group, and I don't hang out with them very often. They hang out with other people at weekends, for example, two of them see their boyfriends, or else another may be working.. But there's these kids in my class at school and they're kind of popular and they always hang out together at the weekends and have a great time going to parties and discos and stuff and they're the loud ones in the class and they're quite friendly. I would be friendly towards them in school, and they seem to like me too, but I would never be someone they would think to invite along at weekends, although I did go out to meet them one Friday night when they went to the cinema and invited the whole class and I was the only one who came, and I had a lot of fun. But I guess they assume that I have my own life outside school and I'm not all that interested in them. I don't think anyone actually knows that I don't have a social life. I keep it a secret because I'm ashamed and by not discussing my weekend and not asking them about theirs, but that only alienates me further. Today my friends and I bought tickets to see Kickass (age rated 15) at a Vue cinema. We were sold the tickets and were not asked for ID when buying them (btw we were 2 16 yr olds and 2 17 yr olds). When going through to see the film a few minutes later, we were asked for ID, which we said we didn't have and the woman said we should've been asked for ID when we weren't. As we were not allowed in, we went to go and get a refund, only to be told be were not allowed, we were only allowed to change to a film of a lower age category. Is this not completely unfair? I'm going to complain as this is unjust but am I in the right. I understand why I was refused entry for not having ID but it is unfair to be sold the tickets in the first place and then not be given a refund. I'd appreciate it if you could read the full detail below to fully understand my scenario, but if you'd rather: here's a brief summary of my problem: Girlfriend, 14 (I'm sixteen), only ever fancied girls until she met me. She makes me incredibly happy when I see her, but when we're apart (which is often, since she goes to an all girls school), I get an irrational fear as to why this may be, and whether or not we're right together. I want to get rid of these feelings, since they are driving me insane, because she really does mean the world to me, we get on really well together and I don't want these thoughts to mess up or intervene with our relationship. ---- A little bit about myself: I'm a sixteen year old, straight male, who's never had a proper girlfriend, never tends to go anywhere near alcohol or drugs etc. and has never done anything more than kiss another girl. I'm not the most socially-apt of people, but I have a decent number of friends despite all of this. A little bit about my girlfriend: She's fourteen, we met at a local community play a couple of months ago, she goes to a highly commended all girls school, whilst her hugely annoying twin brother goes to the same comprehensive school as me. The situation: A few weeks ago, I met a girl at a local play. We were both just reciting a few lines, which meant we spent a lot of time backstage, where we talked a lot whilst in the company of several other similarly aged children. After getting her number, I asked her if she'd like to go out to the cinema together. Being my first date ever, I thought it went pretty well, however she told me there was something I really should know, but she felt like she could only do it over text. Later that night, I received said text, where she told me that she had "only ever liked girls before". Admittedly, it was weird to say the least, but I laughed it off and other than a couple of awkward weeks after hearing this, things continued as normal as they could seemingly be. Since the first date, we've been to each others houses, had some nice chats about each other, shared a bunch of lovely kisses with each other and been to the cinema a further time. Despite her sexual confusion and the age difference between us (I turn 17 this June, and she turns 15 three days after me), things have gone quite well, however I keep getting weird feelings about our relationship that are hard for me both mentally and emotionally. One of the hardest things for me to get over is the fact that she goes to an all girls school, which means I don't see her that much, and also because she also spends a lot of her time doing homework and seeing her other friends. It's not that I don't trust her, because she's never given me much reason not to (apart from one time when we went to see Alice in Wonderland, only for me later to discover she saw the same film the week before with her best friend without letting me know), but the feelings prevail, and my mind always wanders to places that make me feel like she doesn't like me all that much and that she might just be going out with me as an experimental type thing, to see if she can prove to her friends or family that she's not a lesbian. I know that this isn't true, though, which then brings on feelings of confusion and anger with myself because I'm making myself think of such things. Sometimes my mind even brings up the question of whether or not I should be going out with her in the first place, since the sexuality issues make me question why she'd like me after never liking a boy before, and the age difference makes me feel a little weird when I see people of the same age as her whilst thinking how young they look in comparison. When I'm with her, though, all these thoughts just disappear, and our relationship feels perfect. I have only recently found out about socail phobea and am 17. Heres the low down....: I have a group of friends at school but we dont do much. We only go shopping and to the cinema and sometimes to each others houses and thats it! I have no guy friends as I go to an all-girls school. My first few years of school were mega - awkward and weird, and so embarressed myself a lot, and now people who knew me since then think I'm a weirdo (do you know what I'm saying??) I totally grew out of it though and now at 17 I'm a completely different person, its just noone seems to see that. Hey, hoping you can give me some advice here if you don’t mind. This will probably take a while to read and understand but I’ve been sooo depressed and worrying about it for the past week that I would really appreciate if you can help me out :( First of all I’m a 17, nearly 18 year old guy which may help In September I started my college course and its been going pretty well, made a couple of new friends but missing out on stuff from school but that’s not my problem… Anyway, there’s a girl in my class, Cheryl. She was 17 at this time too. I get on quite well with her. We’ve done things outside of college like bowling, cinema etc just usual things that friends would do. I wasn’t too sure if I liked her as more than a friend, I mean, I found her really good looking but I wanted to get to know her better as a person first. Within 2 weeks she was seeing someone from our class, Connor who is 24. Anyway, he broke up with her at the start of the year. Think he found the age gap to be a problem. She still liked him a lot and when drunk wouldn’t stop going on about him. He then came to her 18th birthday party, as did i. And she was again, drunk and all over him. They then shared the couples dance at the end which she thought meant he wanted to get back together and he took as a normal dance. By this time I really liked her, I think its fair to say I felt crushed! On the way home, I was driving and gave her best friend, Tess, a lift home. We were discussing them and she turned to me and said “Do you like Cheryl too?” Just out of nowhere and I instantly just said “Yeah!” Now I NEVER tell anyone who I like, even the actual person. I have never told a girl herself that i like them either. Anyway after Connor realised that she still liked him a lot he decided to stop speaking to her altogether! He began to appear offline on msn in order to avoid her, if she invited him to anything he would say no every time, didn’t want any contact really except the very rare odd word in college. This was affecting her college work quite badly, I guess she just couldn’t concentrate and she failed 2 assessments plus an open book assessment where you basically have the answers in front of you as you have duplicate previous excercises! In the past couple of weeks she seemed to have realised that he is just a complete immature prick and gave up on him, I was at her house for a small social gathering on Saturday. I very rarely drink alcohol, just on the very odd occasion. So I was driving round to her house so therefore wasn’t drinking. Cheryl got slightly drunk but not majorly so she sobered up very quickly and the only time she mentioned connor was when Tess said she was texting him to see if he’d come and she said “Just leave him! This will probably take a while to read and understand but I’ve been sooo depressed and worrying about it for the past week that I would really appreciate if you can help me out :( First of all I’m a 17, nearly 18 year old guy which may help In September I started my college course and its been going pretty well, made a couple of new friends but missing out on stuff from school but that’s not my problem… Anyway, there’s a girl in my class, Cheryl. Okay, the title of this question seems a little bit worse than the story actually is... I am 17, and was grounded for valentines day. My boyfriend wasn't even allowed to come round to my house. Okay, so I'm 15 but I look 17 however I sound 13... yeah... anyway I must have read 100s of pages about buying condoms from chemists, stores, asking relatives etc. and nothing seems to help my self confidence at all. I just really need some personal advice on where to go, when to go and maybe some comforting words of advice? I've been talking with my girlfriend about sex for AGES now and we both feel that we're ready but both of us are too scared to go anywhere to get condoms. I've thought about everywhere possible, chemist, school nurse, older sister, family planning centre, pub restroom... I mean it... everything but I just don't have the composure. I talked to my 29 year old sister who said she would get me condoms but I asked her over 2 months ago and now because of what I've been reading and been said to by my close friends im scared to ask her again and I cba to wait for her to get them any more. i'm 17 and go to college I've been hanging out with a couple of guys the past week. Last night we all went the cinema and one of them held my hand and leaned his head on top of mine when i leaned on his shoulder. I am going to a club on friday (liquid) and its for 13 - 17 years but even though im 18 i look much younger than that and I can't even get into fifteen films at cinema. Also im not gonna wear to much makeup so i dont look older. do u think i will still get in. I'm in a group of 7 friends at school, I am 17 years old and in my last year. There is a kind of divide between my friends as we are quite different but we usually get on pretty well. The thing is 2 of them fell out (they were really close) and now theyre friends again they are doing something this evening and shopping tommorow, then one of them is going to cinema with another friend from our group. A couple of weekends ago a few of them went for a meal and cinema (again I wasn't invited neither was 2 others from the group) every weekend they seem to do something in pairs or as a small group and me and my other friend from the group are never invited.
