Cinema Ticket Booking Questions and Answers
Voting Question: Why do some people ask what you want, and then just do what they want anyway?.?
I'm having trouble with a friend who has the habit of making a point of asking what people want. You might think that this is not a bad thing. But add to it that if you choose the option that they don't like, then they just do what they want to do. EG., Going to the cinema, she is booking tickets, and says we can see any film i want, i pick a film, she gets annoyed, and books another film. What kind of person does this?, i mean psychologically, why?. And how do i deal with this?. moreResolved Question: Can i get into an 18 if i pre-book the tickets?
Me and my friend want to go and see piranha 3D at the odeon cinema maidstone.. We are both 15 almost 16 in like a month or two, and i am 6ft 3'' tall.. I Know this is long but please help me, i need someone else's perspective. Thanks Me and my ex are not friends, if anything we are now acquaintances at best. we broke up mutually, but long story short it ended because he lied about getting an STD test 5 times, the fact that my parents could support me through university and pay my rent apparently made him portray me as some high maintenance bitch, he held stupid grudges over me microwaving a pizza since silly me thought I could use a microwave as a second option since I didn't have an oven. Oh ya the fact that I texted my sister who was on the verge of breaking up with her ex during the scene in which Dumbledore and Voldemort first battled was ultimately devastating. So devastating that he didn't want to watch the 6th one with me based on texting my sister 2 years ago because her heart was broken and yada yada yada. I know you don't give a crap so I wont say anymore. The point im trying to make is he was an ass. Even when we broke up I genuinely wanted to be his friend afterwards and he agreed we could be friends. 2 months passed after the break up and I figure it was the appropriate amount of time to give him his things back, actually believing we could be friends, I thought we could make it a friendly environment rather then meeting at a coffee shop, exchanging not only our things but also awkward small talk. I thought we could make it more friendly. So silly me suggested that I could maybe come over, hang out with him and his flatmates, split a pizza and play some x box and then just leave his stuff there. So I text him suggesting that. 1 week goes by then, ping! i get a text message. Its from the ex, he says Hey! how about we meet at this Starbucks branch. Then I thought I cant believe he is still pulling this crap. The guy was vain enough to think this was a plot for me to jump his bones. The day I am supposed to meet him I get really sick, I text him at 8 in the morning apologising and suggest he come over for lunch and have mac and cheese, he was allowed to say no but he decided to wait a full 24 hours texting sorry I couldn't make it, lets me meet next weekend in the same place. So, if he was going to be like this, he could come to the branch near mine. it goes fine Im reading my book, he then arrives, it was fun, we caught up but he then decided to just compare my then pregnant sister to a hippo, I was not impressed but I looked passed it. all in all it went ok. now the second time round, I found another one of his shirts in my suitcase. I text him, he replies a week later again saying I don't remember those shirts are you sure there mine? I go yes they are, do you want them? no reply for three days and I then text saying I don't want be rude but you want them or not? then he says yes. he is then 20 minuets late which was annoying but I couldn't get upset because I had a habit of being late. He said sorry I might be late. I didn't expect you to reply so fast so I stopped by a pub to have a pint, and I was thinking, did we not date for almost a year? I always replied immediately. Anyways long story short He acted like an ass again, he even compared this monster on my phone's background to my sisters fetus at the time. lovely right? the whole thing sucked, I was annoyed, I still tried to be the bigger person and while on the way to go see the movie, I noticed he wasn't carrying the bag with the shirt in it so I asked where it was and he said he doesn't know but didn't care since he didn't like the shirt that much in the first place, which was a waste of my time. anyways the movie we saw afterwards sucked and I had to pay for not only for the meal but also the cinema tickets since his card didn't work. I would be fine with that under normal circumstances but he was an asshole that whole night was not ok. then when my train came he simply muttered the word bye and that was that. I never spoke to him or even heard from him (which I wasn't complaining about, since he was an idiot) until now 5 months later asking if I wanted to join him and his friends for mexican food that night. like I was really going to drop everything for him and just run to him. My question is why now? he acted like a complete asshole, said nothing about it and then just randomly ask me to come for mexican food 5 months later. Can anyone please explain this to me? this guy really hurt me and I tried to be his friend. I decided to give him a taste of his own medicine and ignore his text. I think he did it out of guilt but he's about 5-9 months late for that. Believe me I wanted to be friends, I tried to be his friend but maybe I was too optimistic. Thanks moreVoting Question: when pvr cinemas (chennai) open their shedule to book tickets online?

your side of the chair at the cinema, or should they be forced to pay for an extra seat? Attended my local Arts society function to watch a classic Art movie which was FULLY booked via pre paid ticketing, My problem was that I was seated next to a XXXL size male that was way too big for just one chair so he was invading my space, I couldn't say anything as what could he do as no other seating was available. But what to do..?
Hey guys, well, in around two weeks its the one year anniversary of me and my girlfriend, and I'm a little bit stuck at what to do! I have been out for meals with her, walks and picnics and had days out to places before (and a lot of other things) so I can't really think of anything new to do. So I thought something along the lines of going out for the day somewhere, then having a nice meal in the evening them maybe off to the cinema after wards to see a film? Of course, if you can think of anything better or any ideas at all. Please share them! I was also thinking about making a scrap book of everything we have done in the past year, so a page or two for each day out and include pictures, quotes and a little paragraph about it. Will also put in cinema tickets and train tickets etc, that kinda thing :) Kind of our whole year of memories together in a scrap book for her. And maybe some flowers, that is one thing I have never actually got her before.. what flowers are appropriate do you think? I am only 18, and can't drive yet, so driving places is out of the question. Trains, buses, lifts etc are all fine though :) Also that means a limited budget (aka I can't afford a £300 day out :( ). If you can think of any other gifts that would be suitable then that would be good too. The more ideas, the more things I can think about and plan. Thanks so much for any help, and thanks for taking the time to post. :) moreResolved Question: booked tickets and need to take my mums credit card in...?

Hi, I booked my Eclipse tickets the second they became available for the preview on Friday night. Last week I got an email saying I can watch Twilight then New Moon before Eclipse. This is all well and good but I cannot get through to any human on customer services to find out the following information so if anyone has this can you please answer. If anyone slates Twilight I will delete, I actually need this info. My cinema originally said they will 'probably' empty the auditorium before Eclipse starts. I want good seats and planned to queue up 2 hours in advance as I did with New Moon but if they don't empty the auditorium people who are watching all three will get all the seats. On the other hand if they do empty the auditorium do the people who have watched Twilight and New Moon get to go to the front of the queue for Eclipse? Therefore rendering my queuing time useless? OR... If I watch all three and they send us to the back of the Eclipse queue, I will again get bad seats. I have no idea which option to take, whether to watch all three or queue for Eclipse! So has anyone managed to get through to Vue and find out what the hell they are doing???? So I just got through, the girl didn't really know what they would be doing so spoke to her supervisor. Apparently people watching all three will get priority seating over the people that have been queuing for hours to see Eclipse. I'M DISGUSTED. I also get the feeling that they actually don't know what they are doing and this will probably not happen and I will end up at the back of the Eclipse queue. THIS SUCKS (no pun intended) So I just got through, the girl didn't really know what they would be doing so spoke to her supervisor. Thanks =) Thanks Ner! =) You enjoy it too! Can't wait! Melanie: I live in the UK =) moreVoting Question: How do I get her parents to like me?
Its mainly my girlfriend's mum. She's nice to my face, but behind my back she seems to hate my girlfriend spending time with me. I'm 18 and she's 16, we're both fairly normal people, neither of us has any particular problems that would evoke this reaction from her mum. For instance, this weekend I had planned for my girlfriend to come over to my house today, we would go to the park for a bit (there's some kind of festival going on), then go to a roller disco for a laugh, then tomorrow I was really looking forward to her coming to church. I'm in a quick drama and there will be 2 ex convicts who have come to Christ to give their testimonies. I felt that this was really important that my girlfriend could come and see this, and also stay for lunch with my family and these 2 ex cons. I had planned it like 5 weeks in advance, but just this week, her mum booked some free tickets to the cinema, for the same day. Her sister doesn't have to go because she's revising, but her mum won't let my girlfriend come to something which I've put in so much toward and been so looking forward to doing. I'm a complete slave to her parents as they control everything my girlfriend can and can't do. So how do I gain their trust? moreResolved Question: Pre-booking cinema tickets?

Read description!?
Alright, so I'm going to date my girlfriend for the first time. I'm not nervous but I'm confused and don't want to mess it all up. I've already booked cinema and bowling tickets for the day, then we will probably have dinner at nandos or mcdonalds or pizza hut. Cinema tickets cost me 7 pounds each = £14. Bowling 4.50 each = 9.50(just round to £10) so I've already spend £24. I will buy her and myself popcorn and sh*t in the cinema so thats another 10-15 quid gone. That makes about 34-39 quid(round to £40). Right, so this is the confusing part. I've already got her a nice heart pendant from ernest jones for £40 so thats basically 80 odd pounds gone. After bowling and cinema, when we're at nandos or wherever she chooses to go. After the meal, can I just ask her for a fiver or £10 and I can pay the rest of the meal because I'm only bloody 16 and I can't pay like £100 on 1 date lol WTF!! So please help me, can I ask her to help me paying the total of our dinner or will it be rude? Thanks in advance! BTW: I can afford this date. I just don't want to spend too much money moreResolved Question: Live telecast/andre rieu in mastricht?

i am trying to book tickets for the twilight saga eclipse! i live in ireland and read that the movie was not out here until july 9th! i was on my local cinema website trying to book tickets for july 9th but it says that the dates are july 4th and 3rd. i sent an email enquiring about this and the lady wrote back that i could only book dates for 3rd and 4th which are the only days previews are being shown! i always thought a preview was like a trailer but instead they just show 1 scene? i googled whats a preview and it said "a short scene shown before a movie" or " a movie shown before it is released to the general public" does this mean that my cinema is showing the movie early or are they just gonna show that scenes i've already seen online? why would you need to book tickets to see a trailer??? plz help i'm really confused!!!! :-( moreResolved Question: asking about entering into the club?

Had a look at the Guardian culture pages on the net from January onwards (what a fruitful life one leads - ahem) and saw this sweety from February 12; http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2010/feb/12/roman-polanski-ghost-writer The book itself was written by Robert Harris - and it deals with a journalist who is given the chance to ghost-write memoirs of a past British prime minister. Tend to wait for such films to arrive on the screen nowadays - but will hand over dinero to get a ticket in it's first showing up the West End, as I eagerly did many years ago for Richard Wagner's (yes...he who's views might have influenced Nazi thinking) brilliant recording of 'Parsifal' (Pierre Boulez/Bayreuth Festival Orchestra 1970), with Thomas Stewart, Karl Ridderbusch, Franz Crass, James King, Donald McIntyre, Gwyneth Jones, and Marga Höffgen. Just a damn shame I won't be able to get his autograph, though, outside the Odeon... moreResolved Question: Which is the best stand Categories in DY Patil stadium to book ticktes for IPL?

Hey there, I'm currently doing a database project at a-level, and I'm struggling with a validation rule. First off, its a database for a (member only) cinema. I've got a booking table where you can select the films from a different table (which also holds info about the certificate of the film), and where you can select the member from a different table (which holds data about the member date of birth.) Basically, I need to know if: 1. I can set up a form so that I can show the member name and date of birth in two seperate fields, but in such a way that the dob is automatically selected when the member is. Same goes for the film name and certificate. 2. How to make a validation rule that will make sure that only those over the age of the certificate will be able to purchase tickets. (so for example, only those over 15 on the day of purchase will be able to be selected for the film, and if they are younger there will be an error message.) I was thinking a what-if statement would work, like if the certificate is 15 the member should be 15 or older, but I have no idea how to phrase it. The closest thing I have so far is <=DareSerial(Year((Date))-14, Month(Date()), Day(Date())) But i modified that from another project for a gym where members had to be 16 or over. I'm really struggling, and I'd ask my teacher but he's sick so we have a sub, and I have to have this sorted by the end of the week. If you can help I'd really appreciate it. :) moreResolved Question: Can i cancel booking made with Vue?

I started watching a lot of movies around 2 years ago and one day i said to my self that "i want to become an actor" since i 18(im 20 now) ive watched over 200 films(i have a cinema card where i could go cinema and watch unlimited amount of films), not just for entertainment i watch them and the way they act, the more i watch movies the more i want to be in that film and become an actor. Your going to say you just want to become famous and all but i don't care about fame to be honest with you, i just want to act, i want everyone to see me play these great characters, play in great films and soap series like (scrubs, how i met your mother, gossip girl, friends and etc) i see these films and series and i wish i could of played in them and play these great characters. i though to my self 2 years ago that this is probably a passing fancy but its been 2 years and as the days go on i want to become an actor even more. ive did them tests online to see which type of career is the best chose and which career my personality matches the most and its always performing arts since i was a kid but i always found it stupid because i never did want to become one when i was younger because i was shy and still am. ive already booked plane ticket to LA from london to do an intensive acting course to see if acting is really for me. But i don't need to take acting lessons to know if acting is for me because ive never been so sure in anything in my life as much as how much i want to become an actor and play in great films and great characters i wish i could of been in real life or because they are so similar to me(like J.D. from scrubs is like they base the character on me lol) What do you guys think acting is for me? do you think i want to go into acting for the right reasons ? do you think i have the character, personality and enthusiasm to become an actor ? (im not a kid so don't treat me like one when your answering please) Who wouldnt wana become lead role but im not saying i want to become an actor because i want lead role, but I personally love sitcom/ comedy type of of roles/plays. and i know i have to start small but fingers crossed one day. moreVoting Question: Should I be stressed/angry about this or not?
Since I don't want to put names, I'll say that I have friend A, friend B and friend C. Friend A is my best friend, friend B is more of an acquaintance and friend C is a new but good friend. Friend A and I are going to an expo, which we also did last year, we were looking forward to going together but friend B is very hyper and also happens to like the type of expo we're going to. Friend B basically invited herself along even though we didn't want anyone else to come, she's coming on the same day as us, same train as us. I booked the expo tickets for friend A and I, and friend B asked if I booked her's too, I didn't know I had to book hers as well so I told her that and she looked confused. It wouldn't be a problem that she's coming on the same day as us except she is VERY hyper and loud and easily excited and this is her first time going so she won't shut up, and even though she's not technically going with us knowing her there's about a 2% chance that she'll actually leave us alone for a while, and she's not even making an effort with her costume. We were also going to meet up with some people from a website (that was decided before friend B invited herself) and she said it was ok but now she's made an account on the website too. Friend A, B and C decided they wanted to see a film at the cinema together this half term and they invited me too, I wasn't that fussed about the film but I said ok since I didn't want to be rude (was paying for my ticket with my own money, I'm not that selfish xD) but after they all agreed friend B decided she was looking forward to just going with friend A, even though both she and friend C asked friend A, I feel that this is unfair to friend A and C, and friend A has to go twice this week because of friend B's selfishness. I know the second thing doesn't really concern me but I can't help feeling annoyed, and am I getting worked up about these things for no reason or would it annoy most people? moreResolved Question: Woking Ambassador Cinema?

A couple of weeks ago me, by bf and 2 friends (all in our 20's) went to watch a film in our closest cinmea, which is a half hour drive away. Because it was a popular film, and because we didn't want a wasted journey, we booked and paid for all our tickets online. (£20). When we arrived at the cinema to pick up our tickets they, at first, said they couldn't find our booking, then they did find out booking but said the tickets hadn't been paid for. Which was weird as on the website u had to pay to be able to book the tickets. They told us they were having problems with their online paying service and would not give us our tickets till my bf paid for them. we trusted them, and paid. I mentioned that we will be checking my bf's bank statement and they said that if the payment had been taken twice that they would 'of course refund us' but it is 'unlikely' we would of been charged twice. We have now checked the bank statement and it very clearly shows the payment HAD been taken twice by the cinema! I called them to tell them, and they said we must bring the statement to show them before they would refund us. Problem is, as i said earlier, we live a hour hour drive away. The drive to this city is unpleasent, and i never drive there for any reason if i can avoid it. I don't see why we should spend our time and petrol money on the hour-round trip and also pay for expensive car parking to get our £20 back. I do not intend to visit this cinema again as i feel i can no longer trust them. They will not accept a photocopy of the statement in the post. moreResolved Question: Odeon Cinema Question?
Me and my friend are going to go see The Book of Eli on saturday. We are both old enough (both 15) but my friend lost his I.D. I still have mine, but my friend doesn't really look 15. Is there any way i can buy 2 tickets for the movie without him being there? I heard somewhere that you need to be 18 to buy tickets for other people that aren't there, or that they won't sell me 2 tickets unless I have the other person with me... moreResolved Question: Is There Something Wrong With Me?
