She had a difficult family situation because her parents was separating and so, nobody had time to follow her and see how she was growing up, therefore she was completely alone. We were classmates and everyday when I entered in the classroom I didn’t see her and so I felt very worried about her, so when I came out from the school immediately I went to a place near the school where there were a lot of slot machines , because I Knew from other people that she found there. It was a delicate situation and I didn’t know who I could speak about it and I didn’t know what I could do! At first I ask her why she spent her days there, and she answered me that it was the only way to fell better and immediately she started to cry, so I decided to help her. Therefore I told her mother a lie that it Carlotta had broken with her boyfriend and so I asked her if Carlotta could come to my house for some days because she was very sad about it. I persuade her mother and so It did it! hi! i'm giulia and i'm a teenager: i'm fifteen years old! i'm from sassari, it's in sardinia, a big island of the mediterrean, famous all over the world because tourist like a lot our sea and our traditions. In fact here there are a lot of beaches; the most important are Stintino, Alghero, Argentiera, Platamona (but this one is not very good: when you get the sun you can see dozens of oil tanker ships!) and Porto Cervo (busy by VIPs). Sassari is a small town, it's very nive and people are friendly: its nicest part is the centre because are beautiful shops, restaurants and public parks. there are also cinemas, fast-foods and department stores. well, now I talk about me and my faboulus family! i'm short, slim and i've very long wavy hair because in winter i love when it keeps me out of cold. one of the most important things about me is that i am a fan(the number one) of Freddie Mercury; i am crazy for him! i love so much his spectacular voice and his charisma. I could do everything for this man! in fact on the 5th of september, the date of his birthday, i gave a big party with all my best friends and i had a lot of fun with them. i also like going shopping (i am a spendthrift!), reading and dancing, too(i practice dance five days a week). i'm a student so i usually get up early, then i have a shower and i go to school by car because in the morning i'm confused and so tired! after the lessons i go back home and i have lunch with parents. in the afternoon i practice dance and i do my homework. my favourite subjects are foreign languages, Italian and greek, too. i usually go to bad at midnight. on saturday i spend my free time with my friends; weekend is perfect time to relax: i use to get up later and spend the day with my family. moreResolved Question: Needs help with names?
I'm writing a story set in the fictional New Jersey town of Blaire in the county of Monmouth, it is a small waterfront town which deals mainly in summertime tourism and fishing. It is considered a small town yet has an Elementary, Middle and High School, Hospital and it's own permanent fairground. There is a waterfront promenade with cafe's, stores and hotels where most of the younger people in town get their jobs. Behind that is a small shopping district and a large suburban area, the story is set in 1970 and I need names for the various places. 1. A Crab Restaurant, family oriented place with a big plastic crab on the face of the building. 2. A cheap gas station with a 50's style diner inside one of those metallic buildings with the booths and the bar. 3. A pleasant looking waterfront hotel with shuttered windows and potted plants, all the rooms have peppermints on the pillows of the beds. 4. A rather greasy spoon fast food restaurant with a clown as it's mascot, has a drive through and sells hamburgers, onion rings etc, menu very similar to Dairy Queen. 5. A sprawling country club with a spa, golf course, tennis courts and swimming pool. 6. A small funfair amongst the rocks besides the beach, away from the water. There is a small wooden roller coaster, ferris wheel, a tunnel of love, food and game stalls, a carousel, a crooked house, ghost train and a zipper ride. 7. A family owned pharmacy/drug store. 8. A seedy looking Pawn Shop. 9. A classy looking Coffee Shop with dark leather seats and black and white photography on the walls. 10. A tavern with an inn above, pool tables and a juke box, is known for attracting bikers. 11. The town hall where they hold meetings, have theatre plays and host talent shows and the local beauty pageant "Blaire Teen Princess". 12. A rather pleasant looking, but slightly run down cinema with 3 screen rooms and a big awning with the magnetic letters on a white board, usually shows matinee. 13. A big drive in cinema on the edge of town which shows horror and sci fi flicks, a popular haunt for teens. 14. A pizzaria with white, green and red tiled walls and a pinball machine up front, the owner is a friendly yet slightly unkempt Italian. 15. A little club with a open mic stage for karaoke, poetry and stand up comedy. Sells hard liqour and the menu mainly consists of seafood. 16. A hardware store, slightly big and has a large parking lot. The owner has a shotgun in his office and has a penchant for making sure teenagers stay out of trouble. 17. A small nightclub on the water front with a bright and zany interior and a dance floor, a mirror ball and a stage for up and coming bands. Owned by a woman called Pinky with pink hair. Thanks so much for helping me out guys! the place where they hold Town Hall meetings isn't the town hall, if it was that I wouldn't of bothered to list it. Something like the Howard Building or Thymes Theatre No. 17 is 'The Flamingo' No. 16 is 'Jack's Home Saloon' No. 12 is 'Mainstreet Matinee' No. 4 is 'Pledger's' No.2 is 'Cooper's Gas' and the diner is called 'Audra's' No. 12 is 'The Blue Moon Drive-In Cinema' moreResolved Question: Can you help me, please?

I'm Italian, I translated this text from Italian into English, please tell me if there are any mistakes! Thanks! From Desperately Giulia by Sveva Casati Modignani She went the last kilometres on foot because the partisans had the railway blew up at many points. At dusk she entered the town taking with her a small battered fibre suitcase that contained only the essentials. The food to survive had finished and without the generosity of a peasant, she would have been in trouble. A lorry of Black Brigades with their macabre uniforms and a skull on their caps passed. They were singing a religious hymn using blasphemous words. They were drunk with fear and brandy, excited by the violence they had just committed during a mopping up. Three unarmed bloodstained boys, with their hands tied together with wire, their faces full of excoriations and bruises, stood motionless surrounded by the Republicans, staring a distant point. And yet, there was not fear on their mangled faces. In the breast of one of them hung a notice tied with rope: bandit! The boys’ silent glances and the Fascists’ coarse singings vanished after a turn. Carmen recognized herself on the young prisoners, peasants like her, with a great wish to live and great dignity in front of the death. She thought that in a world without wars, ruled by laws, those young people, victims and persecutors, would have been all together in a dance hall, in a cinema, or they would have come to blows for a girl. She walked among destroyed buildings and heaps of rubble in an unrecognizable town, devastated by bombardments. When she arrived home, her mother had already died. Her grandmother Stella had closed her eyes, the neighbours had dressed her and the parish priest was saying the prayers of the dead. The face of her vulnerable loving mother with her dreamy look expressed a great severity. She had died alone, with a force which only the weak sometimes have. It was not an illness which had killed her, but the blows of the Fascists who wanted to know from her where the commandant Owl was. They had beaten her up until she had died to extort her information about her husband and his fellows that she did not want to say. moreResolved Question: Hi,I'm from Spain Can you help me? Last week I visited my friend Angela in Rome, Italy. Rome isn't as big as my home town but it's more peaceful. There were picturesque streets , historical buildings and lots of shop , but everything was quiet expensive which was a little dissapointing because I love buy souvenirs! The weather in Rome , isn't great. It's quite chilly! However the food is really delicious, especially "capuccino".Many traditional Italian dishes are following by coats olives. Another thing about the food , bread is more better than my home town and pizza too! The people in Rome are very welcoming. When I first arrived I was scared but Angela 's family were so kind. The thing I liked least about Rome was definitely the cold! But I loved ancient monuments and the cinemas. In conclusion, I liked Rome because it was big enough to be interesting. Hi, I'm italian and I don't know english very well... This is an essay about my interests: I’ve got a lot of different interests. I usually spend my free time reading books that are my greatest passion. I love to read all the literary genres from the science fiction to horror, from fantasy to historical fiction, from comic to thriller. My favourite writers are Jonathan Coe, Neil Gaiman, George Orwell and Daniel Pennac. I love reading because it’s fantastic for me to lost myself in book’s pages and also because literature opens my eyes on different realities and so I can better understand the human condition. I’ve a great passion for cinema. Since I was a little child my parents brought me to the cinema to see not only films for children but also films for adults that I could understand. Now in a week I see at least 2 or 3 movies and, when I’ve got the money, I love to go to the cinema. My favourite directors are Christopher Nolan, Peter Jackson, Inarritu and Lars Von Trier. I love music and I’m learning to play guitar. I love rock and 80’ music but I give a greater attention to the lyrics of the song than to the music itself. I’ m also interested in the political situation of my country and, generally, of the world, but I don’t watch television news and I don’t read newspaper because I prefer to inquire about politics on internet, because I consider it the most free place of information. Now, unfortunately, I have not a lot of time to devote to my interests because of the school and other engagements. moreResolved Question: I'm italian... can I give some help?!?

It’s very nice: its nicest part is the centre because there are beautiful shops, restaurants and public parks. But there are also cinemas, fast-foods and department stores. I like listening to music, doing shopping, getting up late and I love reading fashion magazines, too. I'd like to be a film maker, but i'm italian...?

Hello, I have searched around several university sites, but none of them seem to answer my question. Let's say when I go to University in a few years with the intent of becoming fluent in Italian, can you take Italian only and focus on elements which follow under that, such as cinema, literature etc.? Or do you have to, like high school, take other pointless topics just to fill up your timetable? I hope you don't have to fill up a timetable - I'd rather focus greatly on one thing than have to mess about in other subjects I care nothing for. So yeah, help please? ~JILLY moreResolved Question: Is it true....???

it'a a part of a letter... I like spending some of my free time with my friends: we often study together or meet up to go to the cinema or for a walk downtown. I love my friends because they make me laugh and I have a lot of fun with them. Moreover I know that I can always rely on them if I need help or if I don’t understand something at school, and they know that if they need help as well I’m there for them. The side of my temperament that stands out the most when I’m with them(and when I’m not with them, too) is probably my enthusiasm: as a matter of fact it’s never missing, because I’m a person who’s very willing to discover something new, to learn and to broaden my horizon and to do new things. Another trait of mina is reliability: when I take a duty, I always try to bring it to a conclusion, thanks to my determinedness, also because I can’t stand letting people down. A flaw of mine is that sometimes I might seem somehow fragile (and maybe I’m a little bit like that …), because of which I might be underestimated by people who don’t know me very well, but actually within me I’ve got a great deal of willpower. Apart from school I attend a scout group (I’ve been a scout since I was 8) and I sing in the choir of my parish. During the summer holidays I usually attend a tennis course, as I love playing sport (but gymnastic at school, because of my teacher…): in fact when I was a child I learned a lot of sports, thanks to my dad who used to teach me and now I can sky, ice-skate, play volleyball, surf (just a bit) and other sports. When I’ve got spare time, sometimes I take care of some children who live in my same area, whose parents have to work in the afternoon so they sometimes call me up to baby-sit their kids. I like doing that, since I really enjoy staying with children, plying with them and make the laugh. . So I do it for free, it’s not a work to me. As I love children, I wish to become a paediatrician although it means that I’ll have to study for other 14 years…but I think it’s worth doing it. I know that Medicine is a very hard university, but I don’t mind studying hard because I’m very willing to do my best to reach my goals. In the scout group I settled in very well, because we’ve been together since we were 8, so now we are pretty good friends and I enjoy staying with them. Moreover we go on a camp every year in summer, and there I have a lot of fun thanx!if u want, suggest better words or sructures...! bye!^_^ moreResolved Question: hello everybody!!!?

I have good career prospects, my own house, drive a decent car, have enough money for regular holidays, like quiet nights cuddled up on the sofa watching a DVD with a nice bottle of red wine and a takeaway, enjoy nights out - just the two of us - to the cinema, good restaurants or maybe a cosy little pub. Basically, I sometimes think I am the last romantic man in Britain. Do I sound like a good catch? Our perfect date would be a nice meal at the best Italian restaurant in town.. Starter, main course, pudding, coffee to finish.. I'd walk you home and give you a kiss on the cheek to say "Thank you for a lovely evening".. All my shout!! moreItalian Cinema News
